NFL legend Tom Brady has strongly dismissed accusations that league officials favor the Kansas City Chiefs or any other team. Speaking on Fox & Friends just days before Super Bowl LIX, Brady called the claims “BS”, adding that referees have an extremely challenging job and are simply trying to make the best calls in real time.
Brady: “Refs Are Just Doing Their Job”
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, emphasized that:
- Officials make split-second decisions and don’t have an agenda.
- Some calls go your way, some don’t—it’s just part of the game.
- He’s glad Twitter didn’t exist during the infamous Tuck Rule Game in 2001.
“These refs have very challenging jobs to do… Sometimes the calls go your way, sometimes they don’t. Over the course of a 140-play game, players have plenty of opportunities to make an impact,” Brady stated.
NFL Officiating Under Fire

The controversy comes after questionable calls in the Chiefs’ recent playoff wins against the Texans and Bills. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell also addressed the issue, comparing it to the “scripted NFL” conspiracy theory circulating on social media.
“I think it reflects a lot of fans’ passion, but it’s a ridiculous theory,” Goodell said.
Super Bowl LIX Awaits
As the Chiefs take on the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, all eyes will be on officiating decisions and whether Brady’s words hold up.
