It is a first for ladies’s professional golf. Royal Porthcawl is internet hosting the AIG Girls’s British Open for the primary time in 2025. It is also the primary time for Wales to host the championship, which began in 1976.
Royal Porthcawl opened at its present location in 1895 alongside the southern coast of Wales within the U.Ok. It isn’t within the rota for the boys’s British Open however it has hosted three Senior British Opens, three Girls’s British Amateurs and 7 British Amateurs in addition to one Walker Cup and one Curtis Cup.
The golf course, designed by Ramsey Hunter and J. Simpson, ranks fifteenth on Golfweek’s Finest 2025: The highest 50 basic programs in Nice Britain and Eire. It would play as a par 72 measuring 6,728 yards this week and contains a par-5 closing gap.
