The Inexperienced Bay Packers have agreed to a three-year, $15.3 million contract with kicker Brandon McManus, ESPN’s Adam Schefter stories.
The deal features a $5 million signing bonus, per the report.
McManus initially signed with the Packers in October on a one-year deal and kicked for 11 video games final season. McManus was beforehand beneath contract with the Washington Commanders, who lower him after two flight attendants accused him by way of a lawsuit of sexual assault on a staff flight when McManus performed for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2023. The criticism sought $1 million in damages.
A Florida choose dismissed the lawsuit, citing a scarcity of “distinctive” standards required for the ladies to have anonymity. McManus’ accusers filed the lawsuit beneath the pseudonyms “Jane Doe I” and “Jane Doe II.”
The ladies refiled an amended criticism that included their names, in line with the Related Press. The Jaguars declined to remark on the time. McManus has denied the allegations, and his lawyer Brett Gallaway known as it “a pure smear marketing campaign.” There’s been no reporting on the amended criticism because it was filed in September.
The NFL investigated the allegations and located “inadequate proof” to self-discipline McManus for violating the league’s private conduct coverage. The league launched a press release on Sept. 30 that the case was closed concerning any potential self-discipline for McManus.
Packers basic supervisor Brian Gutekunst stated when the staff initially signed McManus that it was “very, very snug” with the acquisition.
“Final week when these items obtained cleared up inside the league and he obtained previous another issues, these conversations kinda picked up,” Gutekunst informed reporters in October. “We needed to ensure we did our due diligence.
