A large eruption occurred at Mt. Etna on the Italian island of Sicily, producing a plume of excessive temperature gases, ash and rock “a number of kilometers excessive,” authorities mentioned on Monday.
The eruption, which started in a single day, produced explosions heard as far-off as Taormina and Catania, that are about 50 kilometers and 40 kilometers (31 miles and 25 miles) away, respectively, in response to a number of witnesses who posted footage on social media.
