A Republican lawmaker stated he and his spouse have been reunited with their two daughters who have been attending a Christian summer time camp that was destroyed when historic flooding swept by means of Central Texas over the weekend.
Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, stated Saturday in a put up on X that his two daughters have been evacuated from Camp Mystic, a camp alongside the banks of the Guadalupe River in Hunt, Texas.
“Camille, Vivian and I are actually reunited with Caroline and Juliana who have been evacuated from Camp Mystic,” Pfluger stated of his household. “The final day has introduced unimaginable grief to many households and we mourn with them in addition to holding out hope for survivors.”
In a separate put up, Pfluger praised the heroism of camp counselors and others who acted to save lots of lives through the top of the flooding.
“There are numerous heroes who acted so bravely throughout this tragic scenario – who sacrificed for others – thanks…and for many of you we’ll by no means even know the tales or perceive what you probably did! However, THANK YOU!” the congressman wrote.
Pfluger stated Camp Mystic’s co-owner, Dick Eastland, probably sacrificed his life to save lots of younger women attending the camp.
“Camp Mystic’s Dick Eastland little doubt gave his life making an attempt to save lots of his campers,” Pfluger wrote. “For many years he and his spouse Tweety poured his life into loving and creating women and girls of character. Thanks Mr. Eastland. We love you and miss you.”
Pfluger requested the general public to “pray for miracles” as crew proceed trying to find survivors of the floods, together with 27 women lacking from Camp Mystic in Kerr County.
